Readers of Product & Image Security will know the importance that the European
Commission places on the development of new technologies that can be used to
fight counterfeiting in the Single Market.
NAGINELS is a two year Co-operative Research Project sponsored by the EC 6th
Framework programme and involves eight partners. The project is set to deliver
an innovative laser solution that will provide a method of surface engraving by a
new high-tech laser that will enable glass bottles and other glass products to be
coded with machine recognisable marks or innovative decoration
characteristics that will protect products from unlawful reproduction.
